Way Back
My Dad’s job
Plastics Society of
America
And Now
Proliferation of plastic
Where the
unsuspecting
Have made the
“Great Pacific
Garbage Patch”
Where an unsuspecting
Lantern fish swallows
plastic soup
Where an unsuspecting
Larger fish eats him
And is served for my
dinner
I eat
Plastic.
I love the cyclical approach, from the naivity in your childhood and your father's job to the sort of disregard or blase appreoach we all hold now towards the food industry, environmental concerns, and what we consume. Profound and has a great consistant tone. I'm really liking this.
ReplyDeleteI like how your poem circles back to the beginning.
ReplyDeleteI love this! It really makes you think.
